He regretted his words almost as soon as he had spoken them - Merlin, was that a bad analogy - and he blushed with embarrassment.

Martin gulped, as all colour faded from his face. Merlin help him, he was going to fail everything and end up in a strip club somewhere.

Fabian let forth a hearty chuckle. “See, this is why I
love you so much, kiddo – you’re an absolute hoot. You
used to say the damnedest things when you were a tot, and
I’m glad to see you haven’t grown out of that. Some things
are too good to give up.”
“We absolutely play Quidditch at the office. You
remember that time I came home with two black eyes and
your mother threw an absolute fit? That happened because
that complete arse Lowell managed to elbow me in the face
not once, not twice, but three times when he was going for
the quaffle. Peh – chasers.”

in his place might have taken offence to the phrasing, or the
implication that he was not quite normal, but Martin was not one of
those people. To him, the way that his father had praised him only
meant that he thought him to be interesting, and despite his initial
embarrassment, his chest was swelling up.
”It sounds like he had something against your face, Dad. Maybe he
was jealous”
