but what the ponce did not know would not hurt
him. Everyone's stuff was fair game when they
were not around. That was how Wilkes saw it,
anyway, and that was what counted.

For a moment, Mulciber remained silent,doing nothing more than look at her in a manner that he hoped might be at least a little bit unsettling.
Then he gave her a grin and threw the package of beans right at her face.

The bag hit its mark, a perfect bullseye against the
center of her forehead. Wilkes wasted only three
whole seconds to get over being stunned
because goddamnit it was Mulce
and she should have expected
something like this.

When the bag hit its intended target, right in the center of her head, making a slight bump against her skin as it bounced off of her, the boy let out a hearty laugh, and turned his body to take it all in and mock her.

Wilkes was not the sort to use up more energy
than was necessary. She could have made a
fuss but she was so used to the many whims
of the group that she would rather plop down
on the couch opposite him, cross her ankles
on the coffee table, and levitate the bag of
beans into her free hand with a lazy murmur
and curt swish and flick of her wand.
She would rather and so she did. But not
without giving Mulciber an annoyed look
and proclaiming:
"Arse."
